.Charlie.

I tried my hand at some newborn photography with Charlie when he was a couple of weeks old,i didnt have much time so i just took afew shots while i had him to myself.
Considering ive never tried newborn photos before...i was really pleased with how they turned out.

I didnt want to get him completely naked as i hadnt warmed the room or anything and i only had a few mintues.
And i couldnt decided between color or black & white with this one


And,from the same day...asleep on nanny after a feed. His bald patch is courtesy of the anti-biotic drip he had at the hospital

.Big Sister.

While Lucy was in the hospital having Charlie we looked after Ty & Lola. I got loads of pictures of Lola while she was staying with us,it was the middle of the summer aswell so we spent loads of time outside.
Here are afew of my favs from the week spent at my house

In the bathtub...it was crazy funny trying to get this pic...i took my socks off,rolled my trousers up to my knees and balanced on the sides of the tub. She kept standing up wanting me to pick her up so i got a whole bunch of photos of her head before she eventually sat down and then gave me this look. Then she wanted to get out an stood up so i had to get into the tub,pick her up and then get out :)

Playing in a bowl of water in the backyard...she couldnt even wait for me to take her nappy off before she got in,infact...she still had her shirt on when she first got in but i managed to take it off while she was sat there.

It was so much fun spending the week with Lola...she really is just crazy as they come and so well behaved aswell. The house was so quiet when her and Ty left.

.Update.

Ive been such a bad blogger again and neglected the blog for afew months...i just havent felt like blogging that much recently and its been a crazy few months with lots of changes...the biggest change being my nephew Charlie being born in August...

Charlie was born on august 4th and weighed in at 9lb 4oz..hes is so gorgeous aswell. He was very ill when he was born though,after catching pneumonia in the hospital and he spent 9days in the hospital in the intensive care ward of the special care baby unit (scbu)

We went to visit him the day after he was born.
I took these 2 pictures while my brother was holding him.

My brother took this of me holding him. You can see that he was already discolored from the pneumonia causing him breathing problems.

I took this one of my dad with his new grandson

Later that day he was taken down onto the special care baby unit and put under an oxygen mask..this was his home for a couple of days. Hes underneath the blanket in this photo having a nice,aged 3days.

A couple of days later he was taken off the oxygen but had a feeding tube and an anti-biotic drip in his head. This was day 4.


He lost 1lb while he was in the hospital...but came home at 9days old feeling and looking much better,he had slight jaudice but was perfectly ok. It was so great to have him home!!

.Party.

At the weekend we went to a suprise 'lunch' party for my Aunty who just turned 65! Im quite suprised they managed to keep a secret from her for so long..usually shes the one in the know. Before i left they asked me to take a quick photo of them all together,so i snapped this shot of my aunty,uncle,their 2 daughters and son in laws & 4 grandkids :)
There wasnt any great places in the venue to take a photo..the part where the party was was very dark and didnt have anywhere for me to put them. We ended up just outside the hall on some stairs that lead to the dance studio.

The light was very harsh on the left side which is floor to ceiling glass...if i had more time i would of swapped around the sisters and had D and her husband A on the other side as they are dark haired but i didnt have the time to check my shots and position them better. I only managed 2 shots in total before they were all done with the photo thing.
I ran a muted fashion action and burned the left side as much as i could to lessen the harshness on K & M. It wasnt until after the photos that i realised K is the only one not looking in my direction...i managed to get the other 5 adults and 4 kids to look at me but not her....ah well,you win some and u loose some. I'll know for the future now.

Im gonna get it blown up an framed for them.

.The start of spring.

April has arrived and its still pretty cold here but things are slowly starting to come back to life and the flowers are growing. I went out for a nice walk and snapped a couple of shots though there wasnt much life to shoot. All good practice though.

Dad

My dad just had a triple heart bypass last week..he had a heart attack in september an has been waiting to have the operation since. It finally came. It was a 7hr operation that went well..he suffered a collapsed lung afterwards an then had problems with his kidneys but he has now been able to come back home and is doing well. Before he came home i left a little message for him on the fridge

When he came home he let me snap a couple of photos quickly before he went to bed to rest. I was suprised at how clean and healthy his scar looked considering it was only a week ago that they operated. I thought it would be dressed aswell but apparently not..it heals faster this way.

So glad to have you home dad! You'll be good as new before you know it!

.Lola.

Ive been a bad blogger again...so much has been happening over the last couple of months but ive been picking up my camera as much as possible an taking photos of lola. As a result....i dedicate this whole post to the beautiful & wonderful Lola.

This was taken back in January...it was getting late in the evening an she'd just had her dinner. The lighting was crap but i couldnt pass up that adorable face of hers. She has some great expressions an this is her...im not looking at you face.

This month ive taken quite a few photos of her..after not picking up my camera for at least 2/3wks i decided i need to get back onto it and get some great photos that i could have printed big for everyone.
Ty & Lola stayed at the house for the night and i took the opportunity to snap a bunch of photos...i must of taken at least 50...to get only 5/6 good ones.

I love this one in color aswell....

And before the end of the day...i managed to get a photo of Lola and her dad (my brother Richard)...she really is his twin...his mini me!

I had such fun over the day taking these photos of Lola..she is such a funny little girl and really a pleasure to spend time with. She pulls the funniest of faces and does the craziest of things.
Now all i need is for her big brother Ty to allow me to take some photos of him and then i can have some great ones of him to give to his mum & rich..not just photos of Lola.
