The River

I often go for a walk down to the River Wye where i live in Hereford..its a great place to just walk and be peaceful and great for my dog to run around and amuse herself for awhile. Everytime i go i take my camera and take god knows how many pictures of what i think is a beautiful view. I went down to the river last month for the first time in ages. I'd only had my camera a month or so and hadnt really photographed any landscapes or outdoorsy style things.

I walk along this bank and fields as far as the eye can see and spend at least an hour everytime just wondering around..stopping every now and then to photograph something and then wondering on again. Its so peaceful to be out there when the sun is shinning..where there are virtually no people to interupt you. My first walk out there last month was just after most of the uk had been flooded and the fields were still wet and muddy which big pools of river water which had risen during the floods.
I loved that the fields still seemed alive despite the devastating floods all around them.

By the time i visited again the last of the flood water had disappeared and we were able to walk right along the river back and not get stuck in the mud and water.

My last trip to the river last week was later in the evening just as magic hour was coming round..although i didnt utilise the light as well as i probably could have. The hay had been bailed and i was looking forward to doing a 'hay bail' shot but sadly the bails were stacked and squared :( But it was still a nice soaking in the late evening light.

wow...long post...sorry for the boringness...
